I guess my fear of getting tattooed, or rather, apprehension about it, is based on change. When I was 18 and fiercly influenced by a band called Einstürzende Neubauten, I thought about getting their logo tattooed on me, somewhere, but there was one thought constantly nagging me about that: what if they turned bad? I mean, they were active at the time (and still are).

Your PowerPoint-tattoo must have been made with that in mind, I mean, Microsoft changing the MS Office-logos once in a while and all. Same thing about the American states, even though that would more be of historic importance I guess, as they could actually change (in any way possible).

Well, I’d rather a tattoo that means something to me than something like a “tribal” tattoo, even though I’d risk it to get dated.

Looking forward to a close-up of the tattoo, though!

I really don’t see what’s wrong with MS… I’ve seen two Windows-logo tattoos, and I’m sure they’re not the only ones! (no I would not get one!) I didn’t like the new PPT logo, so I got the 2000-2002 one.
I’m thinking about getting a tattoo representing every American state I’ve been to… they would have to be a bit small though… so they all fit in a line.

Thanks a lot for your reply! The background is actually interesting. May I say, no offence implied, you seem very down to Earth for a person who actually had a Microsoft-made logo tattooed on your body! I’m not saying it’s wrong or deranged to have done so (which would only be extremely “high horses” and snobbish of me), only that I expected the person who had done it to be mad or nice. I’m glad you proved to be a nice person.

Any other tattoo-plans?

Sorry for taking so long in answering, I thought I would get a new pic by now but I didn’t… I was going to reply when I got one. So I only tell the story…

In my last year of high school I was involved in making PowerPoint announcements that the whole school saw. This sort of went to my head, but it also made me realize what I wanted to do for a living (advertising and related stuff). I told some people in my class I would get the PPT logo tattoo, of course no one thought I was serious. I thought about it for 14 months, and then got it on Feb. 18, 2006. Not a long story, but uninteresting. Now my tattoo is “explainable”

I’m the one with the PowerPoint logo … I’m very proud that you picked it as the main pic… as far as I know this site and modblog are the only sites it’s been featured in. Why I got it is a long and uninteresting story. The quality of that picture is kinda bad though, as I was impatient and wanted to upload it that very second.
